Gorgeous, Amazing, Spectacular and absolutely breathtaking view! That's what I think would be perfect to explain this majestic experience. To be able to stand at one of the best locations in the whole world and to capture our photos with this backdrop is a chance of a lifetime! The weather is so perfect!

How to get here?

Desa Cattle Dairy Farm located 92km about 1 hour 50 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu City - Capital City of Sabah (the main gateway connected Sabah to the world). You may hire a driver from a local tour agent or rent a car to get here. I would probably suggest you rent a car or if you can't drive, you may hire a driver or a private tour.

The best time to visit is early morning. You can depart from Kota Kinabalu City around 6.00 am to experience clear blue sky and stunning views along the road. Crooked road alert and you might get dizzy.

Before arrive at Desa Cattle Dairy Farm, you will pass by this "must try" shops:

1. Sinalau Bakas (Wild Boar BBQ Shop)- Non-halal shops selling fresh BBQ Wild Boar, make a stop if keen to try.
2. Pekan Nabalu - Little small town selling souvenirs, gifts, fruits etc. 95% private tour will make a stop here for a short break or for shopping.

Before you go here, some info you should know.

What's there?

The Famous Home-made- Gelato ice cream.

Although the queue is quite long, but this is something you should try. It has chocolate favour, vanilla or even no flavour at all. You may purchase some yoghurts too. Price range between RM5-10 per cup. I personally like the Chocolaty flavour. While enjoying your soft ice-cream, you can see the beautiful mountain in front of you. A one of a lifetime combo experience!

Calf Feeding

Yes, you have the opportunity to feed the calf too. There are two sessions which morning session (8.30 am to 12.00 pm) and afternoon session (1.30 pm to 4.30 pm). After filling your tummy with the delicious ice-cream, now its time to feed the calf! Do a little work a bit.

Cow Barn Viewing, Milk Processing.
It is a great learning experience to see right in front of your eyes how they milk the cow, produce the milk and package it too. It is not something that you can see every day. Put this in your list to do while you were here!

Desa Cattle Dairy farm is a must place to go whenever you visit Sabah. You ask all travel writer, they surely highly recommend this place. Desa Cattle Dairy Farm named " The New Zealand of Malaysia"  due to its location and its backdrop, the majestic Mount Kinabalu. It has a cool climate of 16 Celcius or so and if you were lucky, you will get the full view of Mount Kinabalu!
